Hi, I'm Jo - a beer lover at heart. I want to help other people start doing what I love doing, brewing great beer! I have extensive knowledge of all things beer, and have been lucky enough to learn tips and tricks from some of the best breweries in London.

The experience

Join me on this experience and I'll guide you through the brewing process step by step, from raw ingredients to the beer in a fermenter bubbling away. Choose from a range of beers to brew and get started with a partner. You'll also get to taste a range of beers as I explain the different techniques, ingredients, and styles. Choose a pint and your tasters at the bar, and take home around 20 pints of beer previously brewed. If you’re in London, you can brew your own recipe and come back a few days later to bottle your very own beer.

We'll spend the day at our purpose-built brewery situated in the historic Tram Depot in Clapton, East London.

See you soon!

I went on this experience with Jo which was fantastic - he is knowledgeable and passionate about beer, and has modern equipment to make around 20 litres per batch - that’s how much I was able to take home (40 bottles). I went back to brew again some weeks later - Jo guided me through the process again, and offered tasters of what we could brew and what he's been working on. I now only drink my own beer - can't ask for more, thanks again Jo!

Bought this as a surprise birthday gift for a friend who loves beer and both he and I really enjoyed it. Jo was approachable, affable and knowledgeable - he’s clearly doing something he’s passionate about and loves!

The class was mixed abilities - some had tried home brewing before, others hadn't, but it didn't matter. Learning about the different types of grains and stages of brewing was really interesting, you use professional equipment, and the process was simple. We had plenty of choice - you could make an American Pale Ale, stout or one other (which I couldn't remember!) We opted for stout and can't wait to try it.

You get free pints of what they have on tap if you fancy it and you come back in a few weeks to bottle your own stuff (20 bottles in total), or take home the equivalent in pre-brewed beer if you don't live in the city. As someone who's not even a habitual beer drinker, I'd really recommend it - will definitely try other experiences from Fromigo too!

Absolutely loved Jo and his experience. The brewery is harder to find if at night, but once you find it and get there, you'll have an amazing time. I knew nothing about brewing and beer and I can say I am now a lot more confident of what it involves. Would recommend this to anybody wanting to learn more about beer!
